A new direct winter flight could open up a new Scandi ski escape.
The weekly Sunday service, launched by Crystal Ski Holidays from Gatwick to Scandinavian Mountains Airport, began on December 21, 2025, and will run through the 2025/26 season until April 5, 2026.
Operated by TUI Airways, the flight offers travellers in London and the South East easy access to the Swedish ski resorts of Sälen, Stöten, and Kläppen.
Scott Britton, head of Crystal Ski Holidays, said: “Our new route to Scandinavian Mountains Airport is a fantastic addition to the Crystal programme, giving customers even more choice for their next ski holiday.
“Sweden really does have something for everyone, from family-friendly slopes and scenic tree-lined runs to great restaurants, and with such short transfer times, it’s never been easier to experience a true Scandinavian winter wonderland.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to the Swedish mountains this winter season.”
The resorts are known for their short transfer times of less than an hour, as well as a full range of winter activities including snowmobiling and dog sledding.
Gunnar Lenman, chief executive and airport manager of Scandinavian Mountains Airport, said: “We are really excited to welcome the UK’s biggest ski tour operator, Crystal Ski Holidays, to Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
“The new route from Gatwick opens up fantastic opportunities for British skiers to experience our unique resorts in Sälen, Sweden and Trysil, Norway.
“We look forward to giving Crystal customers a warm Scandinavian welcome this winter.”
Crystal Ski Holidays is offering a seven-night stay in Kläppen, Sweden from £838 per person, based on two adults sharing a two-bedroom apartment at the four-star Hotel Kurbits, with flights, transfers, and 20kg hold luggage included.
